In 1989 Dean Goben started out as a tree surgeon working for the Crown Estate working to a meticulous and strict standard.  Passing all his qualifications in aerial rescue, Dean excelled in tree felling, woodland management, and moved on to set up Birchwood Forestry in 2005.  Now a thriving family-run business, Birchwood strives to work across the board of forestry and woodland management to provide a wholly sustainable service which recycles 100% of the materials obtained, using the latest technology and equipment and keeping prices affordable.  We have our own yard for working with the materials needing recycling.

We work closely with English Heritage, diocese, rail tracks, highways and HM Prisons and these are just some of the large commercial clients we've worked for and are still working with across the country.   We've worked hard to achieve local authority approval for the majority of the boroughs surrounding the Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Sheffield areas.  All of the usable by-product from our work is recycled for use in biomass, carpentry, wood-turner and paper mill industries.
